Virtual contract position in California working with two teams in Washington D.C. and Milwaukee WI to identify and create standards, opening requirements and samples for large scale Plumtree portal implementation. The goal of the project was to provide solutions, publishing standards and editable templates, whereby school staff and various department delegates would ultimately join, publish and contribute equally with retention of uniform publishing standards throughout. The initial MPS Professional Support Portal is the lead and establishing standard, whereby all other departments and service groups will ultimately follow and conform. Repurposing of existing file formats together with standardization and file naming conventions to conform will be achieved on a “as time permits” basis.
Located in southeastern Wisconsin on the shore of Lake Michigan, Milwaukee's public school system is comprised of 221 schools, serving 105,000 students, and employs 6,700 part-time teachers, and substitute teachers. The Office of Academic Excellence features a professional development plan to ensure academic excellence for all children and served as lead department for the MPS Professional Support Portal Project with eventual duplication by all other schools, departments and teachers for individual departmental publishing.

Initial responsibilities included full assessment and recommendations for the creation and ultimate implementation of a new 2nd generation web presence, to replace the original and existing 1998 1st Generation site. Duties required full-service overall initial assessment, requirements gathering, management, coordination, organization, and information architecture.
Solutions accomplished globally, including soliciting stand-alone individual divisional specifications, problem solving, creation, integration and deployment of special web services and new features for a public Internet site with departmental focused sub-sites. To retain department individuality as well as preserve the overall global personality, the subtle distinctive nuance was established via assigning individual colors for each department. Launch of new site occurred on September 4, 2002, in celebration of the 5th birthday of the Library's new architecturally remarkable facility.
As a cornerstone of the Jackson Hole area, the Teton County Library site features an Administration (About Us) Department, Front Desk (Circulation), Information Center (Reference), Computer Center, Adults Division, Youth Services (Children), Young Adults (Teens), combined Support Your Library site (Foundation and Friends) together with an Outreach (Press) department, to include an extensive Latino community presence, (en Espanol) each with distinct focus and purpose. Separate and apart, yet combined via individual department calendars seamlessly forming a Master Calendar of Events to which all departments equally contribute, participate and are responsible. Repurposing of content respecting Section 508 government usability standards was achieved by frameset use of “Text Only” Section.
